- Fuelled by
clean-burning, safe Liquefied Petroleum Gas
(propane)
- Ideal for use in all styles of crop
housing requiring elevated temperatures, with the bonus of CO2
enrichment.
- A single heater operating for approx. 15
min. per daylight hour provides frost protection plus the correct level of CO2
enrichment for one sixth of an acre. Thus, six heaters would be required per
acre.
- Those relying on boiler heating systems
for crops such as early tomatoes could add two Maywick heaters per acre for CO2
enrichment, these also providing a reserve heat source in the event of boiler
failure.
- The heat
chamber is manufactured in high-temperature-resistant aluminised steel and the
cast iron burner is enamelled to prevent rust. The design of the air intake to
the burner maximises combustion and heat chamber efficiency.
- A quick-acting electronic ignition
system ensures immediate response to thermostatic demands, while a powerful
blower with a totally-enclosed, thermally-protected motor, distributes heated
air via a duct fitted with an adjustable deflector.
-
Temperature control is from a thermostat which can be sited close to the heater,
a high-temperature limit switch, with manual reset facility, preventing
overheating.
